Quick Overview

"Fresh out of the package, these are the grippiest wheels I've ever ridden" says Mobot Max Wippermann who raced on the White 80a Monster Hawgs at Goldrush 2010, placing second in Juniors. Monster and Mini Monster Hawgs feature a slightly bevelled lip, meaning that the angle on the lip is not quite 90 degrees. This makes the release from grip to drift extremely smooth and predictable, perfect for downhill racing, slalom and hard carving. As the wheels break in, the edges round over a bit and provide a little less grip, but the same predictability when transitioning from grip to drift. Monster Hawgs also last a surprisingly long time. With a core that is slightly more centered than something like a Bigzig or an Orangatang, these wheels are less prone to coning and the urethane formula is very resilient, making this an excellent wheel for downhill if you don't plan on changing wheels every heat. Overall, the Monster Hawgs are a very grippy wheel with smooth sliding characteristics that will last you a long time.
