Omen: Carbon Matrix 39" Longboard Skateboard Deck
Product Description
The OMEN Carbon Matrix is the first board created by Omen Longboards as the solution to downhill/freeride boards. Perfection was the goal and nothing in this board got overlooked.
The ¾” drop and underflushed mountings lower the profile of the deck, making it more stable for DH and easier to kick out while doing standup slides and freeriding.
The lowered profile also creates deep pockets for your feet, making sure that they stay nested on the deck and give you ultimate traction to your board so you do not move around while riding.
Construction-wise, it is made of nothing but foam, carbon and texalium making this board incredibly light and stiff. This makes the board more responsive and it holds less momentum through corners, ensuring that you hit corners with maximum speed and agility. Less weight also means that it takes less effort to throw the board around while sliding, making slides easier and more controllable.
The all-composite construction is also beneficial because it allowed us to achieve structural qualities that are not possible with wood. Where wood drop-decks have to end the concave at the drops, the Omen Carbon Matrix’s deep “Devil cave” (.666”) concave is 100% continuous throughout the entire standing platform creating deep cups at the drops that hold your toes and heals in place, giving you maximum leverage with your feet.
If all that wasn’t enough, the Carbon Matrix’s “Love Handles” line the edges of the board to ensure that your hand doesn’t slip while grabbing rail through turns or during early grabs.
To top it off the Carbon Matrix has built in “crow bars” that allow for more structural integrity, along with allowing us to use less materials. When it comes to downhill and freeride there is nothing like the Omen Carbon Matrix.
Motion Note: This is deck includes a foam core and carbon fiber shell along with a neck support to prevent the neck snapping. The board is downhill oriented but is also a great freeride board.. Team rider and Omen rider Danny Smith uses this board for freeriding along with downhill. Motion would recommend this board to anyone who is looking for everything out of a board, durability, light weight, downhill and freeride. We would recommend setting it up with a 50 degree truck and a medium to soft duro wheel.
